The average man becomes unrecognisable when some level of control is vested on him. The true self comes to the fore.

Power is like vodka—it intoxicates—but it also gets to a stage where it gets boring (even with its variant flavours). At this point, you want an adventure—you try out a cocktail of strong drinks.

Have you ever wondered why wealthy, influential, good looking men like R. Kelly get embroiled in sexual abuse cases when multitudes of ladies would die to lie in their beds?

Nobody can contain power absolutely — there’s a flip, you find that it controls you in the long run. You want to try out things you would normally not do. Perhaps to prove to yourself that you can—without consequences.

Then you become bored. You are used to getting everything at your beck & call. The natural becomes tasteless — you develop a wild appetite for something more exciting. Thus, you tend to go for the the things that seem to evade—things seemingly beyond reach.

You get to a stage where the mind tells you that you can get away with anything. You become daring— what money cannot achieve, reputation should!

The reality, however, is that power is the god. You worship it. It controls you. When you get intoxicated & seemingly out of control, it humbles you.
